Do you think it's feasible to get a dining plan with twin 10 yr old picky eaters, as well as myself and my daughter having had gastric bypasses? Only my husband and son-in-law eat normally. Any suggestions? Thks.

Welcome to Disney Parks Moms Panel, Elizabeth!

My family loves traveling to Walt Disney World and sampling so many delicious dishes while touring; a Disney Dining Plan is a fantastic way for us to get the most out of our dining dollars.

To determine if this is right for your family, take a look at the menus of the locations where you'll be dining. From each menu, add up the cost of what your various family members will order, based on entitlements that are part of your particular plan. Next, add the cost of the actual snacks each person may order (2 per day per person in 2017!) to get a total cost per day of dining. If the cost of your choices is less than the cost of one day of a Disney Dining Plan, it's clearly worth it for your family. Even better, the resort-refillable mug that is included for each person adds great value, too!

When we're with kids at that transitional age, we find ourselves heading to buffet dining such as Chef Mickey's, The Crystal Palace, Boma-Flavors of Africa, and Tusker House Restaurant. There, you'll find kids' menu items set aside in one location, with the regular menu available to everyone as well. It's a great opportunity for kids to stick with comfort foods such as pasta, chicken bites and mac & cheese, while being able to actually see what the more sophisticated items look like before deciding if they'd like to try them. When dining at other locations, if the kids don't see something they like on the menu, or would like to modify an entree, just ask your server; they want all guests to enjoy their meal and are happy to help each one of you do so!

Send more questions as you plan your stay, Elizabeth; we love to help!
