What are some things for a 4 year old boy for a 5 day trip? Attractions, dining options, things not to do. Also is a park hopper worth it? We will be staying outside of Disney. Any other information would be appreciated. Thanks

    Hi, Carla!

Your little prince must be so excited for your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! With a 4 year old, the most important thing to do on your vacation is to go at HIS speed! This means mid-day breaks, getting to bed on time, and having meals scheduled at regular times. Even if he no longer uses a stroller at home, I highly suggest bringing one for this trip.  My family sometimes logs 10+ miles in one day, and this can really be a challenge for our littlest guests.

Plan to spend a lot of time in Magic Kingdom. There are so many family friendly attractions here for your son to enjoy. A park hopper is nice if you really think you will use it.  One park in the morning with a different park for dinner is nice, but if you plan to dine at or near your resort each night, it might not be worth it.  Figure out your schedule, your days, and ticket options accordingly.

Character dining might be fun for your family. Some of my favorites:
    -Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom
-Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Resort
    -Garden Grill at Epcot
-Tusker House (breakfast) at Animal Kingdom

For mid-day breaks, if you do not want to go all the way back to your off-property resort, consider visiting a nearby Disney resort where you can relax in the lobby, snack at the food court, or enjoy the beach. This works best at Epcot where you can use the International Gateway that leads to the Boardwalk area or the Magic Kingdom where you can hop on the monorail for access to several resorts.  Remember, however, that you will not be able to use their pools which are for that resort's guests only.

I hope this gives you some help when planning your vacation. Have fun making magical memories at Walt Disney World!
