Hi there.I've managed to get to my goal weight in Weight Watchers and although I am very excited about my Disney hol I am worried whether the deluxe dining plan will offer healthy options.Booked all our meals as table service, will there be healthy options?

    Hi Eleanor,

Congratulations on reaching your goal weight! I know what a big accomplishment that is and how proud you must be.

You can certainly eat healthy meals at Walt Disney World. Disney has made terrific strides in recent years to improve the healthfulness of its food offerings.

There are fish and vegetarian options on nearly all WDW table service menus, as well as healthy sides, salads, and no-sugar desserts. However, I think one of the best things about table service dining at WDW is that the chefs have the ability to customize your food for you. So if, for example, you see something on the menu that appeals, but has a sauce that might add unwanted calories, you can ask them to leave the sauce off. Similarly, if there is a fried food option, feel free to ask if they can steam or broil instead. Often this is possible. The key is communication with your server. If necessary, they can ask a chef to come to your table to discuss ways to make your food more healthful. This is not an imposition at all. MANY guests do it every day.

Honestly, your biggest challenge is going to be portion size. Many of the serving at WDW are quite large. Your server will be able to wrap up any uneaten portion of your meal so that you can eat it later. Or, simply ask them to bring you a smaller than usual portion. They're happy to accommodate your needs.

Have a wonderful vacation. Please let us know if you have more questions.
