    Sarah from ON Asked

Hi There! I’m planning a trip for my son’s 3rd birthday. He will turn 3 half way through the trip. Does he need a ticket on the day of his birthday, or just the two days that fall afterwards? Also, how would I note that when booking a package? Thanks!

    Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question, my fellow Canadian! I visited Walt Disney World Resort with my little guy several times before he turned three and it was always so much fun to experience the Disney Magic through the eyes of a little guy!

From what I understand, if you’ve purchased a Disney Resort Hotel Package for your upcoming vacation, your son won’t need a Theme Park Ticket for any part of your stay. If his 3rd birthday only happens halfway through your vacation, then he’ll be considered “under 3” the entire time. I believe that this will also apply for any Disney Dining Plans you may add to your vacation; he won’t be assigned any dining entitlements for your entire stay, either.

If you want more tips and tricks for getting the most out of your Disney Parks vacation with your little one, please visit the Planning for Preschool Kids & Little Ones page. I visited it frequently when my son was younger.

And please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
