Hi there, I'm confused about rules on adult costumes at Magic Kingdom (not at Halloween). It seems that adults can get madeover at the Pirate League, but I also read that adult's aren't allowed to wear costumes in Magic Kingdom...? Thanks for your help!

    Hi Julie ~

That is an excellent question. Adult Guests are not allowed to wear costumes that look like an actual Disney character. Little Mouseketeers would question why there are two Cinderellas while as adults, we know there is only one real Cinderella. It is too confusing for them and takes away from the magic that Disney works so hard to maintain. When all Guests are invited to dress up while attending the Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party events, it is easier to explain to little ones that everyone is dressing up.

Adults are allowed to visit the parks if their hair or make-up resembles a Disney Princess or other character as long as they are not also wearing a costume or clothes to look like the character. Adults are allowed to remain in the parks following their facial makeovers at The Pirates League as long as they are not completely dressed from head-to-toe as a famous Disney pirate like Jack Sparrow or Captain Hook. Most will only have facial makeup and a bandana. A lot of adults will get into the spirit and have a pirate makeover with their kids especially on evenings they are sailing aboard the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Voyage.

Please feel free to keep the questions coming. We are hEAR for you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
