Hi there, Due to time constraints, I'm thinking of only doing 2 of the 4 shows at AK with DS6, DD4, and DS11mths. Which would you recommend: Lion King, Nemo, Flights of Wonder? (Tough Bug too scary?). We plan to return to WDW every 1-2 years. TIA!

Hi Julie! Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

If I had to choose just two shows to see while at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme  Park it would be Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo - The Musical. For me when I am choosing activities, I am always keeping in mind what will keep my children’s attention the best.  Both Festival of the Lion king and Finding Nemo – The Musical are Broadway style shows. In my opinion the music is absolutely spectacular and some of the songs your family will most likely know from the movies. There are performers that sing, dance, act, and some that are puppeteers. The shows are so colorful and upbeat. For our family these two shows keep our interest and get us excited because of the color, lights, music, and familiar story lines.

It has been my experience that shows like It’s Tough to Be a Bug! was a bit too dark and scary for my young children. Flights of Wonder is a beautiful show, however I found my children not able to sit through the whole show.

I would like to suggest trying to secure a Fastpass+ time for the shows that you choose. I often find that people line up very early for the stand-by line for these very popular shows and they may even be filled to capacity. Also, once they start seating people for the shows there is also a wait before the show starts. If you secure a Fastpass+ time, you will still have to show up earlier than the show start time, however you won’t find yourself waiting as long as those in the stand-by queue and you will also have a seat!

I hope that I have helped to answer your question! Remember to stop and enjoy the magic!
