That's great thanks. My family were planning to be in either Magic Kingdom or the Hollywood Studios on the 4th of July and would be grateful to know what was going on in both of these parks during the day and at night. Can you help me find out please

    Hello, Rachael!

You have picked an absolutely spectacular day to be in Walt Disney World!

The Fourth of July firework spectacular at Magic Kingdom is truly the most amazing firework display I've ever seen. Disney's Hollywood Studios also celebrates the holiday with a firework display, filled with upbeat rock selections geared toward a fittingly American theme. This too, is a great show.

If you have to choose, go with Magic Kingdom that day, although know that the park will be very crowded due to the popularity of that nighttime display. You'll have to get there early and be prepared for a high level of crowds, so get finished with as many attractions as you can on a different day, or very early on this day, then spend the rest of your day heading in a more leisurely fashion. If you decide that you don't need to see Cinderella Castle as you view this spectacular display, you can actually see them perfectly, too, just outside of the park gates, at the fencing that runs along the lake. When the show is over, you'll be among the first Guests to transportation back to your resort.

Earlier in the day, you'll see characters in patriotic gear, as well as flags and ribbons and patriotic pins, too. One of my favorite unoffical websites, allears.net, has lots of information on events at WDW parks and resorts on July 4th. Head over to that site, and enter "fourth of july" into the search bar, where you'll then find even more specific information.

Unless the schedule changes, if your own itinerary allows it, consider being in Magic Kingdom on July 3rd, since this special firework display is first shown that night. The park will be slightly less crowded, and you'll be able to head to Disney's Hollywood Studios for the July 4th display over there (which typically is only shown on the 4th.)

These are sure to be firework displays unlike anything you've ever experienced previously! Have fun!
