Thanks Joel ! for your Great ideas especially about the "boat rides" Pirates of the Carrb. is my husband's favorite ride and I was hoping a 2 yr old would be able to handle that type of ride. Have you ever had your 2 yr old on the Haunted Mansion

Hi, Amanda! My boys love the Haunted Mansion (and they're not just saying that to suck up to me.)

My youngest rode it at 6 months old (in the Bjorn, strapped to my muscular frame) and at 18 months old (totally asleep, strapped to my back via the REI Toddler Backpack.) At 6 months old, he was all "goo goo gaga" and drooled all over the place. However, I don't think it was due to the supernatural experience. Probably teething. At 18 months old, he slept like the dead, much to Madame Leota's delight.

My oldest son rode it at 4 years old and 5 years old. At 4 years old, he was spooked but said he liked it once we made it into daylight. In fact, one of his favorite songs to sport his dance moves to is the entire ride through audio from the Haunted Mansion. Atta boy.

So, if you can't get your kid to fall asleep for the ride (sigh,) gauge it by how well she does on other dark rides. The best benchmark would be Snow White's Scary Adventure. Progress like this:

Peter Pan's Flight -> The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh -> Snow White -> Haunted Mansion.

And remember, once inside the mansion, THERE'S NO TURNING BACK (but really there is if you need to.)
