Thanks so much for all the great information. I have base tickets , upgrading to park hopper on arrival. We are not going to a water park but are definitely going to Disney Quest. Is it best to purchase the Disney Quest tickets separately while there?

If you are not going to the water parks, and only want to go to DisneyQuest once, then buying a single admission to DisneyQuest makes the most sense financially. If you plan on going to DisneyQuest on more than one day, then purchasing the Water Park Fun & More add-on to your park hopper would save you more. The cost of the WPF&M add-on is less than two single-day DisneyQuest admission tickets.

As to whether to purchase now or later, it doesn't matter too much, but I personally would wait to buy either the individual DisneyQuest ticket or the WPF&M option until I arrived at WDW. A large reason why it makes sense to wait is because then you'll know what the weather will be like during your trip. If your visit is at a rainy time, you might want two days at DQ and that would influence your ticket purchase. Or the weather could be great and you'll decide you want to skip DQ and spend more time at your hotel pool. This would also impact your ticket purchase.
