Thanks for answering my question. We are staying at the Port Orleans Riverside, what will be the best way to get to the Polynisian for the early Dinner Show? Ho much time should we allow to get to our breakfast and dinner reservations from the hotel?

    Hi Sharon,

Getting from POR to the Polynesian is a two-step process. First take a bus to the Magic Kingdom. From there you can either hop on the monorail or take a shuttle boat to the Poly. You'll see the monorail, and the correct boat is marked with sign above the appropriate dock. If the boat is waiting, take that. Otherwise head for the monorail.

I'd leave POR about an hour before your reservation time. You may be a bit early for dinner, but I'm a better-safe-than-sorry girl.

In general, I try to leave about 45 minutes to an hour to get from a resort to meal, particularly if it is at another resort. In most cases, there is no direct resort to resort transportation. Instead you need to make a transfer at a theme park or Downtown Disney, as in the example above. I like to leave some buffer time in case there is a delay with the transfer.

If you let me know where your other reservations are, I can give you the best transfer points. And you should also know that taxis are readily available at WDW. If you're running late or want to make better use of your time, taking a taxi directly from resort to resort can often save you 20 minutes or more.
