Thanks for answering my previous question Andrea, booked Fantasmic at Mama Melrose's - please give ideas for food in room as we are from South Africa, quite unfamiliar, also Quick-Service and snack entitlement tips would be fab. 105 days and counting.

    Hi, Teresa!

I am so happy to help!

First, you will have a microwave and mini-fridge in your room, as well as a coffee maker and small sink, so think of items you'd like to stock in the mini-kitchen and arrange to have them delivered to your room. Many friends of mine use the independent grocery-delivery service GardenGrocer.com, which will enable you to have favorites in the room at all times. You could also check boxes of non-perishable food along with your luggage; this will ensure that you have the exact items you want in your room, and they'll be delivered along with your luggage through Disney's Magical Express. We like to pack portable packs granola bars, cereal, a plastic container of jelly and peanut butter (in zip-shut baggies, just in case they break in transport) for light breakfasts in the room, then add in fruit snacks, crackers and any other snack items that will pack nicely (if single-serving items are in outer cardboard boxes, place those single-serve items into a zip-shut baggy as well and eliminate the wasted space of the box. We have also checked a box of baked goods, such as bread, bagels, donuts, etc., marked "fragile." Those also serve as a great way to enjoy a quick breakfast or snack in the room, too.

If you are on the Quick Service Dining Plan, then you'll each get a resort-refillable mug, a great savings when filling up at your resort. However, we like to place a sleeve or two of juice boxes, chocolate milk boxes, flavored coffee creamers, etc., too, just to make the late nights or early mornings effortless, since everything you want is right there in your room.

Send me another question, Teresa, about both Quick Service locations that you cannot miss as well as how to use your Dining Plan snacks to the maximum value. I love to help!
