    April from WI Asked

Hi, thank you for your help. The only set plans we have are Cocoa Beach on the 28th and Fantasmic dinner package on the 31st. Our kids are 7 &9, staying at POP. We leave early on the 2nd. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi there, April!

Thanks for checking back in with me :)

So March 27- April 2, 2012, with no Park on the 28th and Disney's Hollywood Studios on the 31st (I'm locking you in for that day due to your Fantasmic dinner package; you can likely manage the entire Park on that day).

My immediate recommendation is to send you to Magic Kingdom and Epcot on your weekdays (29th and 30th). These are two highest-demand Parks, and I'm thinking that even with Spring Break visitors stacking attendance a bit, you'll see lighter crowds during the week than on weekends. Consider doing Magic Kingdom on Thursday, Epcot on Friday.

You're locked in to Disney's Hollywood Studios on Saturday, which shouldn't really see much increase in traffic on the weekend (this is not the case for Star Wars Weekends, however, which start later on!).

Reserve Sunday, April 1 for Disney's Animal Kingdom. By design, it closes early, so there's no fighting with the children about wanting to stay late at the Park when you'll need a good night's sleep for the travel day to come. You simply aren't permitted to hang out any longer than the designate hours. That might eliminate some of the last-day stress, too. You can get back to the Resort with plenty of time to pack and prepare for the next day.

Because I am not sure of your specific travel arrangements in and out of Orlando, I've left those days open. It's reasonably warm enough that time of year - especially for a Wisconsinite! - that you can spend any time you have on those days relaxing at the Resort pool.

Have a wonderful time on your vacation; if there is anything else I can help you with, feel free to drop me a line!

    See you later, celebrator,
    -Deborah B.
