My 2 teenagers will be attending a sport camp bet Xmas & New year. We have 2 days before (12/25/15 & 12/26/16) & 4 days after (12/31pm to 1/4/16 for the parks. Any general or specific suggestions? Is there still fast pass tickets?

    Rosemary:

As a rule, the week between Christmas and New Year's is the busiest of the entire year at Disney World. The crowds you will see the two days before your children's camp will be much busier than the last few days of your visit. If you want to go to the theme parks on Christmas and the day after, I suggest going to the two larger parks, Animal Kingdom and Epcot. These parks' vast footprint helps disperse large crowds. Additionally, you can minimize your time by using your FastPass+ reservations in each park. Hit the highlights of Epcot by just staying in Future World. Animal Kingdom closes much earlier than the other parks, making it my recommendation for the 26th, the day before the first day of camp. You don't want your children exhausted.

Hold off on visiting the Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios toward the end of your trip if at all possible. Not only are these two parks smaller, but in the case of MK, it will take all day to do what you want to do. The less folks you have to compete with in line, the better.

If you're staying off-property, you can make your FP+ selections online on November 25 as early as 12:01 a.m. (I learned recently that as soon as the Magic Kingdom closes, you can begin making FP+ selections for 30 days out.) If you're staying on property, you'll need to have your resort reservation linked up to your MY DISNEY EXPERIENCE account, and you're ready to go. Your FP+ window is already open.

My FP+ recommendations for your kids:

    • AK: Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safari, DINOSAUR
    • Epcot: Test Track, Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth
    • Hollywood Studios: Toy Story, Tower of Terror, Star Tours
    • Magic Kingdom: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
