1 more teacher ?? Spring break next year for daughters 5th b'day. Total princess, want to do BBB and flower garden festival. Break is April 2-6 w/ Easter weekend at the end. :( Go and battle crowds or take time off in Oct.(short trip) to do BBB and MNSSH

    Hi Amy,

Sorry for the delay with answering, but I was turning to the other moms for some insight since we haven't taken a spring break trip in a while.  So here's the scoop:

Easter trip: Certainly more crowded, especially the Magic Kingdom; weather will be warm, if not hot, making visiting the pool great. But even with the crowds, if you plan carefully and utilize park hoppers to move away from crowds, the trip should be fine.  I highly recommend www.touringplans.com to help with planning.  It has a nominal cost, but tells you what parks to avoid on specific dates and helps plan your day based on your needs.

October trip: With lighter crowds, you can probably get more done so even with fewer days you should be okay; can be part of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (fun!); may be easier to get into BBB; can also visit Epcot's International Food and Wine Festival; pleasant weather, but a chance of hurricanes.

Honestly, crowds don't bother me because we try to plan carefully to work around them, utilize morning Extra Magic Hours, and grab fast passes. There is something magical about being at WDW on an actual special day. This is a tough call. October certainly has a lot to offer as well. Any chance an October trip would fall on her half-birthday?  Would that be a way to compromise?

So if it were me, I think I'm tempted to take the October trip, but I don't think you'll regret a spring break trip if you go that route.  Wishing your daughter and early birthday!
