Hi! We are taking our 3 yr old to Disney for the first time later this month. We will be there for 2 days - I am not sure if it makes sense to make reservations when we don't know our schedule. How busy are Magic Kingdom restaurants in Oct, can we wing it?

    Hi Sarah!

Making advance dining reservations is strongly recommended, especially if there is a particular restaurant that you want to go to.  Character dining books up fast, so the chances of getting in as a walk-up are usually pretty slim...but not impossible.  It all depends on if there are cancellations.  We dined at 'Ohana on our last vacation and the walk-up line was wrapped halfway around the second floor lobby.  By the time it was our turn to be seated, I overheard a cast member tell everyone that there are no available tables for the evening.  So you could end up waiting a long time and walk away without being seated.  If there is a particular restaurant you want to go to, I suggest you make the reservation.  Some restaurants require a credit card to hold.  If you need to cancel, you have to do so one day before your reservation.  Having a couple reservations leaves you with options instead of nothing at all.

    Have a magical day!
