We will be taking a 6 and 1 year old.Do we need to get the park hopper tickets? Is it realistic to go to more than one park in a day? will animal kingdom and epcot take a fullday? If we arrive around noon should we get a ticket for that day. I need help!

Hey Laura, I would definitely recommend the park hopper passes, especially with the ages of your children.  I think you will find that with a 6 and 1 year old, you may very well complete parks like AK and Epcot is less than a full day.  At that point, your 6 year old may begin requesting a trip back to the MK for one more boat ride at It's a Small World, and with your hopper pass, that is no problem at all.
I am also one who believes in going from the moment I arrive in WDW.  If I were arriving at noon, I personally would go ahead and get a ticket for that day.  Your 6 year old will probably be dying to see Mickey Mouse, so why spend the day in the room, go ahead and let the magic begin!  Hope you have a wonderful trip.
