We are taking our 6 year old grandchildren for their first trip to Disney over Easter. My wife will not go on any roller coasters but the twins will. Can one adult take two 6 year olds on these rides alone, or do we need an adult for each? Thank you.

    Hi Robert,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to be taking your grandchildren on their very first trip to Walt Disney World Resort! As a mom of four children which includes twin boys, I'm so happy to assist you with this question.

Based on my own personal experience, you should definitely be able to take your 6-year-old grandchildren on the thrill attractions by yourself as long as they meet the minimum height requirement. My husband and I have often used the strategy "divide and conquer" when touring the parks with our four.  Sometimes he will take our older two, and I will take the twins on different attractions. When doing so, I let the twins ride together, and I will sit in the ride vehicle just behind them. Because they have this unspoken close relationship as twins, they usually choose to ride together even when all six of us are together.  Rest assured, we have never had any issues and have let the twins sit together more times than I can count.

Be sure to download the free My Disney Experience Mobile App to your mobile device to manage your vacation plans, view attraction wait times and navigate the parks while on the go. I also recommend booking FastPass+ experiences in advance to decrease your wait for some of the most popular attractions.

I hope this information has been helpful to you. Please don't hesitate to visit us again with any new questions that may arise in the days leading up to your trip. Best wishes for a magical vacation, Robert!

    Happy Planning,
