I am taking my 5 year old to Disney World early August for her birthday is there anything special that goes on around that time and how busy is it around that time?

    Hello Indacia,

There is no better place to spend your birthday than at the Walt Disney World Resort.  That occasion alone will make your visit very special. My grandson is five and it is such a wonderful age! Your daughter will have the time of her life. If you're staying at a resort hotel, be sure to tell the Cast Member at check-in that your daughter is celebrating her birthday.  She will be presented with a "Happy Birthday" pin that will let everyone know that is she celebrating her special day.  You can also request this pin at Guest Services at any of the theme parks.

While every day at the Walt Disney World Resort is special, most of the festivals and parties occur during the spring and fall seasons.  Summer is in full swing at the Resort and the weather will allow you to enjoy the pool at your hotel, or either of the two water parks:  Disney's Blizzard Beach or Disney's Typhoon Lagoon.

The summer months can be a busy time of year to visit.  Lots of parents like to take advantage of summer vacation to bring their children for a Walt Disney World trip. The best resource I have seen for crowd calendars is easywdw.com.  The calendar gives you day-by-day advice on the expected crowds and the best parks to visit on any selected day.

We'd like to send out a very early birthday shout-out to your daughter and hope that she has the most pixie-dusted day ever at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thank you for visiting the Moms Panel.

    Be magical,

    Leanne T
