Hi. I am taking my 5 year old daughter to Disney World for her first visit (and right after her 5th birthday). We have dinner reservations at Cinderella's Royal Table. I was thinking of getting her the Glass Slipper. Is it worth the $65+ price tag?

Hi Natalie! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

To me, there is nothing more special than a First Visit to the most magical place on earth! Add in a special birthday celebration and your Princess is in for the time of her life. I know that my Princess loves dining at Cinderella’s Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park. Imagine the look on her face as you are led up a beautiful winding staircase, into a beautiful dining room with gorgeous stained glass windows. The anticipation is building knowing that your Princess is going to meet Cinderella! She may truly feel like the bell of the ball! It sounds like you are in for a magical evening.

Now let’s talk about the glass slipper. It is really a beautiful design and if your daughter is longing for her very own glass slipper then it would be worth the cost. With a $65 plus tax price tag, for me I would most likely choose to do something else for my daughter at this age. I feel that if I had a child that was more of a tween and was really into Cinderella then I would most likely splurge at that age. I know that my five year old may end up accidentally dropping the slipper and could break it. Then I know I would have a devastated Princess.

I personally would choose an experience at the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The Crown Package which starts at $59.95 plus tax, includes shimmering face make – up, nail polish, hairstyling, and a Princess sash and tote. We always bring our own Princess gown that we have purchased ahead of time to cut down on cost. This is the perfect Princess transformation package.

You know your little girl best so my advice to you is to follow your heart. I am sure that whatever you choose to do, you are in for a magical time!
