We are taking a WDW trip in September with a 4 year old and 20 month old. I know it might be challenging for the baby. Does anyone have general tips/ideas that have worked for them when visiting WDW with a a wee one?

    Hi, Elizabeth!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! You’re going to have a wonderful trip to the Walt Disney World Resort with your little ones.

There are lots of attractions even your youngest will be able to ride, especially in Magic Kingdom Park. If there’s no minimum height requirement posted at an attraction or it’s marked for “any height,” he or she can definitely ride it. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised by just how much the whole family will be able to experience together!

I’ve been taking my son to the theme parks since he was just a few months old. When he was an infant, I often used a baby carrier and would leave him strapped to my chest for slow-moving attractions if the ride vehicle allowed. I enjoyed having my hands free to take pictures and point out characters to him, and it also made entering and exiting the attraction easier. Keep in mind that Guests with children who don’t meet the minimum height requirement may take turns experiencing attractions using the Rider Switch program. It allows an adult to ride while another adult waits with younger children. You then "switch" so the second adult can enjoy the attraction without waiting all over again.

The Baby Care Centers at Walt Disney World are a great resource for families with babies and toddlers, and there’s one located in each of the four theme parks. In addition to providing a convenient place to feed and change your baby, they offer a variety of amenities that make life much easier. There are full-size changing tables, high chairs, a kitchen, and a shop with baby food, formula, bottles, pacifiers, diapers, wipes, medicines and other essentials for purchase.

I hope this helps, Elizabeth, and that you have a wonderfully pixie-dusted vacation with your family! Please write back with more questions as you continue to plan.

    Wishing you magic,
    Courtney
