Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest

I am taking my two kids to Disney World in September, one is 11 and one is 8. If the 8 year old does not want to ride some of the thrill rides but my 11 year old and I do, is there someplace my 8 year can stay and wait until we get off the ride?

    Hi Patricia!

This is a little bit of a tough call. While most eight year olds can be trusted, it's still a matter of where could you leave your child without having to worry about them while you are on a ride. I have had the problem before but I had a couple of my cousins who went on the thrill rides with my daughter while I waited with my son.

Unfortunately, there are no waiting areas for young children except for the shops at the end of the rides and the kids would not be monitored while they were there. What you could look into is the "rider swap"
feature at Walt Disney World! When you are in line for a ride that your child does not want to participate in, your older and younger child can go to a designated area and wait for you to ride. Once you are finished with the ride your eleven year old can "swap" with you and go on the ride without having to wait in the long line! I hope this information helps you with your planning and if you have more questions, please ask away, we are always here to help! Have a Magical Time at the Walt Disney World Resort! Thanks so much for asking the Moms Panel!
