    Ana from NJ Asked

I am taking my three year son to Disney World for his birthday. I was wondering which is the best hotel to stay. I am looking for tsomething that is accesible to the parks while moderate pricing. Also, do you recommend a dining plan.

Greetings, Ana, from a fellow New Jerseyan!

When I read your question I immediately thought of Disney's Wilderness Lodge.  While it is classified as a deluxe resort because of its stellar theming and proximity to the Magic Kingdom, standards rooms here are often comparable in price to preferred rooms at Disney's moderate resorts.  I would check at this resort first to see if it might fit into your budget for your upcoming trip with your three-year-old son.  (Please wish him Happy Birthday from the entire Moms Panel).

Disney's Wilderness Lodge is where we took our then five-year-old son for his first trip to Walt Disney World.  He loved it!  There are cool kids' activities scheduled daily at the pool.  He loved watching the geyser erupt out near Silver Creek Springs Pool and finding animal prints in the sidewalks throughout the resort.  I've timed it and it literally takes four minutes to ride a complimentary Disney bus from this resort to the Magic Kingdom.  (With a three-year-old, you'll want to be close to the Magic Kingdom).  Even the more expensive deluxe Disney resorts can't get you there faster than that.  If I were you, I'd definitely check the rates at Disney's Wilderness Lodge first.

As for the Disney Dining Plan, I vote yes!  We book the plan for nearly every vacation we take to Walt Disney World.  I have found it is the least expensive way to feed children while on vacation.  I highly recommend that you book a Disney Dining Plan as part of your vacation package.  If you have any additional questions about dining or hotels at Disney, don't hesitate to post follow-up questions for me.  I'd be delighted to help.

    Best wishes,
    Jill
