Taking a surprise trip for my husband daughters and me to cebrating being in remission of acute myeloid leukemia any suggestions onhow to make it special for our visit? Thanks...

    Hi Colleen,

First off, congratulations on powering through your journey with cancer! I'm sure you're on cloud nine right now.

As for your idea of a surprise trip, you picked the perfect destination. The positivity in the air at Walt Disney World is certainly going to catapult you and your family into a wonderful appreciation of all that's good in this world.

As for your question, I am 100% confident that no matter what you choose in terms of a resort hotel to stay at, restaurants to enjoy, or attractions to experience, you all will have a wonderful time together! That's what makes Walt Disney World such an amazing place.

That being said, I have an idea as to how you can really seal the deal on making your time together truly special:

First, make sure everyone in your family has a camera and knows to snap away anytime they see something amazing or experience a joyous family moment.

Next, have journals for everyone to write in at the end of the day so you can jot down your favorite memories.

Finally, find a fun Walt Disney World scrapbook kit at one of the gift shops and be on the lookout for fun additions (e.g. maps, unused FASTPASS tickets, or anything else that would go along with the pictures to be added). From there you can pull together your favorite pictures and journal entries and make an awesome scrapbook!

It's my hope that this will serve as a chronicle of an amazing event in your life that will help to keep those memories fresh in your mind.

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

Whenever you have a stressful day, use that scrapbook to take you back to a time in your life when you didn't have a care in the world. When I do that with my own Disney scrapbooks, it works like a charm!

I hope you have an amazing vacation and will be enjoying great health for many years to come!

    Best regards,
    Derek
