Mom and daughter on Expedition Everest

We are taking our son (7yrs) to Disney. We'd like to stay on resort, convenient to all parks as we'll be on the go! I'm also thinking of bringing my parents (80's) who would enjoy a quieter setting - pool, dine, scenery. Where could we stay to get both?

    Jo-Anne,

My first recommendation would be the Grand Floridian. You are monorail rides away from both Epcot and the Magic Kingdom, as well as boat or monorail rides away from many other resorts. That means great park access convenience for you. It also equates to quick access to dozens of dining options, from the most elegant to the most entertaining.

Equally important is that you have an exceptional setting for your parents. You have more signature dining restaurants here than in any other resort. You also have an elegant and serene resort setting. The lobby alone has wonderful live music, a scenic lounge, and some nice shopping.

If moderates are more to your budget, I think that the Port Orleans French Quarter is the best option. It is quieter than it's sister resort (Port Orleans Riverside), but you still get the boat access to Downtown Disney.

For values it is a toss up, with the new Art of Animation resort offering some different accommodations and very nice dining. But any value is going to have a lot families, which typically equates to some higher noise levels.

I am glad to refine this recommendation if you need! Send me a follow-up question and I will consider more of what you might need!

    Have a magical vacation!
