We are taking our son (will be 2.5) to Port Orleans Riverside for a week in August and only doing 2 park days. Can you recommend any daytime or early evening entertainment activities that might be ideal for him/us? We know the resorts have a lot to offer!

    Hi Julie!

Our family is planning a stay at Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside this fall and, like your family, we are so excited to take advantage of the variety of recreational activities that Walt Disney World Resort has to offer. I think you have made an excellent hotel choice for an active vacation as recreation activities at Disney's Port Orleans - Riverside has something for everyone to enjoy! Since the resort is set right on the water, I suggest you enjoy some fun catch-and-release pole fishing. This is a great way to enjoy the peaceful Louisiana Bayou and some quality time with your little man. When you check in, you will get a resort recreation calendar that will provide you with all of the activities at your resort during your stay and their times.

I would also recommend that your family take a trip to the African Savanna and spend some time at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. This resort has so much to enjoy it is a completely different experience from your "home" resort. Simply walking around the property to view all of the different animals and speaking to the Animal Programs Cast Members is a very relaxing experience and will provide plenty of sights and sounds for your little Mouseketeer. There are many activities for kids, from learning about animal tracking to playing African drums. Be sure to stop for lunch at Sanaa, a fantastic restaurant with windows to view the animals on the savanna while you enjoy amazing African and Indian cuisine!

Finally, take a trip to Tri-Circle-D Ranch so your little cowboy can catch a pony ride and enjoy the Cinderella's Ponies!

    T-T-F-N, ta ta for now!
