I am taking my son (8yo) to Disneyland this June. He's been once before but as a toddler and really has no memory of it. Any tips/tricks/must see/do while we are down there? I've scoured the internet but would like some pro tips if possible. TIA!!

    Hello again, Trisha,

We appreciate your great questions here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel. I'm thrilled with the chance to help plan a magical visit to the Disneyland Resort.

As parents, we find that it sometimes helps to transfer our excitement about an upcoming Disneyland Resort vacation to our children. We go through photo albums and reminisce about our previous time at the Happiest Place on Earth. Every day, we have a child update the living room vacation countdown to remind us that our trip is getting closer. In the past, we have had vacation-themed chore charts for our children. When they marked off enough boxes, they earned special prizes that would be useful for the trip: outfits, road trip activities, gift cards for souvenirs, etc. When it's finally time to leave for our vacation, we are ALL as excited as can be!

For sure, you'll want to download the Disneyland app and the Play Disney Parks app right away. You can start to use the apps now to become familiar with their features and to plan out your favorite attractions and meals. About 60 days prior to your vacation, you can start to make dining reservations. My nine-year-old was just asking me yesterday about character dining experiences. Shh! Don't spoil the surprise that I already booked a reservation for the family to dine with Donald! I recommend you also take advantage of Disney PhotoPass. It's a great way to hang on to those magical vacation memories. And if you purchase Disney MaxPass, your PhotoPass downloads are complimentary!

Please come back with any more questions you may have. Have a magical time, Trisha!
