I am taking my son to Disney World for his 5th birthday. Do you have any suggestions for making the birthday extra special while there? He's obsessed with Star Wars so we're planning to be at HS for his actual day. Any tips for doing the Jedi Training?

    Hi Lee!

That is awesome that your son will be celebrating his 5th Birthday while you are in Walt Disney World! I have to tell you that my son loved being a part of the Jedi Training Academy in Hollywood Studios! Over the last few years, they have changed the way they picked kids for this special interactive experience. Currently they are taking sign ups first thing in the day right by where the Jedi Training Academy stage is (next to Star Tours 2.0 the Adventure Continues or right beside the Sounds Dangerous attraction--check the Times Guide to see where the sign ups are for the particular day that you will be there). These sign ups are only open at the beginning of the day for all the shows for that day. There also is a standby line in case kids that signed up earlier that day do not show up at their scheduled show time, but those in the standby line are not guaranteed to be in a show. My advice to you is to arrive at Hollywood Studios 30 minutes before the Park is scheduled to open and when it opens, head straight to sign up for that day's Jedi Training Academy. Make sure that you mention that it is your son's birthday too. Also I would recommend that you stop by Guest Relations at the beginning of Hollywood Studios to get your son a Birthday Button. Have your son wear his Birthday Button all day long because he may just receive some magical surprises throughout the day.

I hope that you and your son has an amazing Birthday in Walt Disney World with many Jedi memories!
