Hi there! We are taking our Niece to DW to Celebrate her 16th Birthday in December. She has never been to DW before, is there anything you can recommend as a “must do”? We’ve never been to DW with a teenager before, any ideas would be appreciated!

Hello there, Jennifer! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for reaching out with your Walt Disney World Resort question!

Planning a trip for your nieces birthday is the perfect way to celebrate such a monuments occasion! If you’re looking for some ways to make her birthday extra special, I would recommend looking into the Enchanted Extras Collection. This collection includes some extra special additions you can partake in that range from spa experiences all the way to VIP tours! I can attest firsthand that these offerings are absolutely amazing for special occasions!

There are actually many excellent attractions and entertainment options I’d recommend for tweens and teens! There are more than a few high-adrenaline attractions, such as Space Mountain and Avatar Flight of Passage, that your niece will love if she’s a thrill-seeker. You can also find numerous, iconic places to capture the perfect photograph if that’s more her speed! One of my personal favorites is the “moss wall” in the Pandora - The World of Avatar section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

My number one suggestion, though, would be to include her in the planning of your family trip! Often times, allowing your teen the opportunity to express themselves and their interests by having a part in the planning process can really enhance their entire vacation experience!

I hope these tips will help your niece has the most magical birthday vacation ever!
