    April from TX Asked

Hello, I am taking my kids to WDW late May of this year for their first visit ~ boy 16, girl 8. Their ages make it a little difficult to plan around. Give me ONE Delux and ONE Moderate resort you think they both would have the BEST WDW experience!

April, you are correct in that planning with different ages can be a bit more challenging. You want to please everyone and yet keep it a family vacation so here are a few suggestions!

For a Deluxe resort suggestion I would send you to the Yacht or Beach Club resorts.  The pool facility that they share is called Stormalong Bay and is considered the best pool on property.  Sandy bottoms and almost an acre of pool area makes this desirable for all ages.  You will find teens and tots and anything in between enjoying the sun and fun.  This location is just steps from EPCOT and just a boat ride to Hollywood Studios. You can also walk to this park which is about a mile on a nice path.  The Boardwalk area is across the water and just a ten minutes walk over the bridge. Right away your son will see the ESPN Club where he can catch up on the latest games and scores.  At night this comes alive with street entertainment and arcade games. There is a marina where you can rent boats during the day as well as tennis, quiet pools, volleyball courts, and playground area.

For a moderate resort I would suggest Port Orleans...Riverside or French Quarter. The atmosphere here is laid back and quite beautiful. The pools are adequate with water slides and there is a marina with boat rentals and carriage rides in the evening.  Their location is the best part. These resorts are a short boat ride to Downtown Disney where you will find the best shopping on property as well as some of the great restaurants. Entertainment is also great with Disney Quest, a multi level building full of virtual interactive games and fun!  Try a balloon ride where you can almost see the entire Disney property on a clear day.

I believe both locations would be perfect for both age groups to enjoy and have a vacation of a lifetime!
