Taking our 2 kids (4.5 & 6m) to DW for the first time (4/28-5/4). Is park hopper a good idea or will we be rushed with the little one? We will spend 4 d there, so should we focus on 1 park/day? Also, my DH is a skeptic for fun things he can do there, s

Hi Crystal! I am sure your entire family is excited about this first trip to Walt Disney World. Only three months to go!

Since this is your first visit you might enjoy just concentrating on one park per day. You can arrive early to enjoy the park before the crowds become large then head back to your resort for naps and pool time in the afternoon. I suggest considering getting dinner reservations back in the parks and enjoying the evening activities such as fireworks or parades. The only park that this plan does not work for is Animal Kingdom as it is the park that will close the earliest each day. By doing one park per day you will save the money on the tickets and perhaps you can surprise your husband with a "guy" activity just for him.

Two thoughts come to mind and they are Richard Petty Driving Experience or a guided fishing excursion. The Richard Petty opportunity is expensive but an unbelievable gift to anyone who drives. You don't have to love NASCAR to get a real thrill from this. The track is located right next to the Magic Kingdom parking lot.
The guided fishing is fun as well and at that time of year the fish are usually biting once the lure reaches the water. We have caught some monster fish in the Disney waters in the past. If your husband is a golfer there are four courses as well for him to enjoy a good round on. Guests can rent clubs and shoes.

But honestly I think your husband will love just staying with the family and experiencing the magic of Disney through his children's eyes. That first time when they see Mickey and can meet and greet with him is priceless. Many of the attractions that the entire family can enjoy are just as much fun for the adults as they are for the children. And if he wants a thrill ride you can enjoy the rider swap option which allows you both to ride without waiting in line twice. Just ask a cast member for information at each attraction.

    Have fun!
