Taking kids to Disney for the 1st time dec27-jan2. They'll find out Christmas that they're leaving the next day for Disney! Ideas how to make the 1st night special since we won't be visiting a park until the 27? 2girls 10&12 1boy 8yrs. Staying @AOA

Hi Nicole - this sounds exciting!  I also surprised my children when they were younger.  I packed their suitcases, wrapped them and put them under the tree in the back so they were the last to be opened.  The look on their face was priceless as they tried to figure out why their packed suitcases were under the tree.  Once they figured it out, they were in shock!  We immediately hopped in the "Minnie Van" and started our adventure.  So much fun!

You have picked a great resort!  The Art of Animation Resort is one of my new favorites!  The first night might be a good time to tour the resort as there are many photo opportunities you can take advantage of.  The pool is also a ton of fun as you'll hear the under water speakers while swimming.

We used to kick off our family vacations by visiting Chef Mickey's.  It was a great way to immediately put the emphasis on FUN!  You can choose any character meal if that one is not available.  You can also check out other fun meals without characters such as Whispering Canyon.  There are also dinner shows available (I love the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue) or you can look into Chip 'N Dale's Campfire Singalong.  If you are up for a fireworks cruise, be sure to check out the Pirates & Pals Firework Voyage.

As you can see, the possibilities are endless!  I hope you have a wonderful Christmas celebration!  Diane
