I am taking my husband for his first trip to Disney December 9-15; I am wondering about crowd volume and the contradicting information I am finding on whether to avoid the parks that are having their Magical Hour or to take advantage of them? Thanks

    Kristie:

The conflicting information you may read about whether or not to take advantage of Disney's fabulous Early/Late Magic Hours comes from the vantage point of what type of a ticket are you holding....

In general, the parks with Magic Hours (especially early hours) tend to be the most crowded park of the day, peaking after lunch.  This happens when folks who would normally choose that park are added to the folks who chose that park for its early hours.

In my opinion, if you hold a one-park-only ticket, you should AVOID the park with magic hours because, generally speaking, the extra hour of fun you got on the front end of the day is not worth the added wait times toward the middle and end of the day.  You're better off to go to another park and spend your day elsewhere.  The exception to my rule is when you hold a park hopper ticket.  This ticket enables you to take advantage of the extra Magic Hours but then leave that park for another one once the crowd begins to build!  It's the best of both worlds!

    Hope this helps!

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
