    Bonnie from CA Asked

We are taking our 2 grandkids to the Aulani in late March. I was really shocked (and disappointed) that reservations at Ama Ama were very limited (late seatings - at 8 p.m.) when I called 60 days in advance. Is there a wait list for earlier times?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Bonnie! It is great to see you here again. Your March vacation is quickly approaching and before you know it you will be basking in the sunshine on the beautiful island of Oʻahu in Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina Hawai’i. I am sorry to hear that you were unable to book an earlier dining time at ‘AMA ‘AMA – Contemporary Island Cooking. Dining reservations can be made as early as 180 days in advance, so this can happen with highly popular restaurants. I recommend that you keep your current, later reservation time but continue to check back each day to see if an earlier time opens up, as there is currently not a waitlist for earlier seating. I have had good luck when not initially snagging a desired reservation time eventually seeing it become available.

If you haven’t already, be sure to make a reservation for Makahiki – The Bounty of the Islands, another great dining option for your stay at Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa in Ko Olina Hawai’i.  This restaurant is a buffet and offers a daily Character Breakfast and on select days, a Character Dinner that I imagine your grandchildren would love. Even my now teenage children enjoy a Disney Character Meal as they are always so much fun! There are also several quick-service dining options when you are looking for more impromptu meals; Ulu Café offers grab-and-go options, as well as hot entrees and my personal favorite, poke bowls, while you can find burgers, sandwiches, and wraps at Off the Hook pool bar and some yummy offerings like fish and chips, coconut breaded shrimp, and an Ono Sandwich at Mama’s Snack Stop

I hope you find all of the dining options enjoyable during your stay in March and have an absolutely magical vacation! Please stop back by if you have any more questions we can help answer here on the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
