We are taking some friends next April to WDW, this will be there first time at disney. There son will be celebrating his 6th birthday, where is the best place for character dining? I have girls so I know about the princess stuff but not so sure about boys.

    Hi Karen,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting to plan a first trip for a little one! Birthdays at the Walt Disney World Resort are the best.

Though Chef Mickey's is popular because everyone wants to dine with Mickey Mouse and the gang, I would suggest that you try Hollywood & Vine. There you will see Disney Junior characters, including Jake and the Never Land Pirates and Handy Manny, for breakfast. If you do a pre-park opening breakfast reservation, you can enter the park before it opens and sign your friends' son up for Jedi Training - Trials of the Temple. Our girls have insisted on fighting the Dark Side each time we visit.

You could do the character meal for breakfast, a Fast Pass+ selection, Jedi Training, then two more Fast Pass+ selections. The Jedi Training sign-up location is very near Hollywood & Vine. All of the Star Wars interactions are just fabulous. On our last visit at Star Wars Launch Bay, Kylo Ren stared our girls down and informed them "your indecision is unnecessary." Be sure to catch a glimpse of the March of the First Order and take a ride on Star Tours - The Adventures Continue.

Karen, recruits come from far and wide to train with the Jedi. On our last visit, we did a pre-park opening breakfast reservation at 8:45 a.m., arrived at the park by 8:20 a.m., took the girls to sign-up (they must be with you to sign-up) and were checked-in for breakfast by 8:30 a.m.

May the Force be with you!
