Taking our first wdw 8/20-8/29.have 3yr and 6 yr old, should we do emh? I am worried about long lines and heat with the kids and really want to make the most out of our trip! Thanks so much!

Hello Brad!  I am very excited to hear that you and your family are about to enjoy your first ever Walt Disney World vacation!
Well, I really understand your concern.  The good news is that during your stay, the parks are already dwindling down since many kids will be getting ready to head back to school.  Yes, it will be crowded, but not like the peak summer times of June and July.  I would definitely take advantage of the Extra Magic Hours whether it is in the mornings or the evenings.  For the morning hours, Walt Disney Resort guests will be the only guests allowed into the parks and this is the perfect time to hit all the rides that you and your family will have planned on.  Considering the ages of your children, the rides they will be interested in will not fill up quickly.  This is also the perfect opportunity to take advantage of the Fast Passes once they are available since you are already in the park.  With all the rides out of the way, you can enjoy the rest of the day without having to wait in long lines since you have "been there, done that".  This will also allow you return to your resort if you would like to take a break.
Now, as for the evening EMH, this will also be the perfect opportunity to jump on rides since people not staying at a WDW Resort are not allowed on rides since they will not have a Key to the World.  You must show this in order to be allowed on a ride during EMH.  It will be so much cooler since the sun will not be out and people are already leaving the park.
I hope this helps with your decision on whether to utilize the EMH or not.   Have a magical vacation!
