We're are taking our first trip to Disney world oct 30th. It was a short notice trip booked in the middle of August. can't get a reservation for askershus. Wondering if anyone has any tips for getting reservations last minute? Even that week?

    Hi Stephanie,

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us a question. I’ve planned several “last minute” visits to Walt Disney World Resort in the past few years. Because of this, I know from experience that it’s totally possible to plan a fabulous trip to Walt Disney World Resort with only a few weeks preparation. All you need is some patience and persistence.

For dining reservations, I’ve found from experience that tables at some of the most sought after Walt Disney World Resort restaurants open up in the weeks (and days) leading up to the date during which you’d like to dine. This is the case even for popular Character Dining experiences such as those at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall.

Here’s what I recommend: keep checking availability over the next couple of weeks, but especially in the 24-48 hours before the day that you’d like to dine at Akershus. Persistence pays off, believe me! And, just in case you’re wondering, the same kind of checking and persistence pays off for your family’s FastPass+ selections too!

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you need any more help planning your first visit to Walt Disney World Resort.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
