We're taking our first trip to Disney soon! I've already scheduled an appointment at Harmony barbershop for my 1 year old's first haircut.Question is: do they cut it any style or do they typically have one uniform cut?

Hey there, Austin, and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

I'm absolutely tickled to answer your question, Austin, because my son had his first haircut at Harmony Barber Shop in the Magic Kingdom Park, too! He was also just a year old, and a bit skittish at first, but the stylist took such good care of my little Mouseketeer. By the time it was done, he was playing with a Buzz Lightyear light-up figure and covered head-to-toe in Mickey Mouse stickers. I wish I could share our photos with you! It was such a great experience, and what a sweet memory we have now that my little boy is a big kid.

In our experience, the stylist asked us if we wanted a basic "little-boy cut" before she started. We did go with the basic cut, but they'll work with you if you'd like something different. The stylists are licensed cosmetologists who do cuts for boys, girls, and grown-ups alike, so I'm sure they'll make your little one's first haircut practically perfect!

Austin, be sure to stop by one of the Disney PhotoPass locations on Main Street, U.S.A., to get some cute pictures of your little one in their "First Haircut" ears with Cinderella Castle in the background. What a fun keepsake that would be!

I just know you're going to love the first haircut experience at Harmony Barber Shop, Austin. Have a wonderful Walt Disney World vacation, and please come see us again if you have any more questions!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
