We are taking our first trip to Disney this May and are very excited, but with all the planning it leaves mom (me) even more confused. Should I get the dining package? Should I get the park hopper? We have never been to any and I need help! Thanks!

    Hi Ashley,

It can definitely be intimidating to plan your first family vacation to Walt Disney World, but we are here to help. Feel free to ask us lots of questions as you plan your vacation.

I'd recommend getting both the dining plan and the park hopper option if you plan on spending most of your vacation at Walt Disney World. The dining plan can not only save you money - it always helps with budgeting and planning. Just be sure to maximize your credits by planning all of your table service meals (if you book a package that includes them). You can make dining reservations 180 days in advance, and the most popular restaurants do fill up well in advance.

The park hopper is a great option to have as well. My family likes going to Epcot in the evenings for dinner, so we typically go to a different park for the day, head to the resort for a small break, then go to Epcot. It's also a good idea if your plans include Animal Kingdom, because that park typically closes early.

You'll also want to make sure to book FastPass+ reservations as soon as you can, so you can make sure you get to all of the attractions that you want to experience.

I hope that helps! Have a great vacation!
