We are taking our first trip to Disney Jan 21st with our 10 year old and 6 year old who has Down Syndrome. We are staying at The Carribean Resort and have a 5 day hopper with water park ticket and meal plan. Where should we dine and what do we HAVE to do?

    Hi Marianne!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

You should stop in Guest Services in any theme park once you arrive at Walt Disney World and ask for a Guest Assistance Card (GAC).  It might come in handy with your youngest child; just explain to the Cast Member that your youngest has Down Syndrome.

With regards to dining, I suggest some of the following:
    • Whispering Canyon Cafe in the Wilderness Lodge
    • Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort
    • Breakfast at Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club
    • Dinner at the Garden Grill in Epcot
    • San Angel Inn in Epcot
    • Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom
    • 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian
    • Sci Fi Dine In Theater in Disney's Hollywood Studios
    • Liberty Tree Tavern in the Magic Kingdom
    • Boma in the Animal Kingdom Lodge

Wherever you decide to dine, be sure to make an Advance Dining Reservation (ADR) for any Table Service (Full Service) restaurant you want to dine in.  ADRs can be made up to 180 days in advance so you are definitely in that window.  ADRs can be made online or by calling (407) WDW-DINE.

I hope this helps!  I know I didn't answer all of your questions, but our responses are limited in length.  Please write back with your other questions.  You can send them directly to me or to any panelist in general.
