We are taking our first trip to Disney and going during the Halloween party. We found a nice resort outside of Disney, but I'm wondering is it worth the money to stay in Disney and get the free dinning option for $600ish more dollars? Thanks

    Hello Sarah!

Your first trip to Walt Disney World, how special!  Halloween is an especially spooktacular time to visit. You will not be disappointed.

The value of  the Free Dining option is truly personal.  Whether it's "worth it" or not really depends on many factors which are important to you.  For example, will you utilize all of your dining credits?  With regard to staying offsite, I always recommend reconsidering that.  For me, I feel that the value of staying on Disney property outweighs any other option.   Others may or may not feel the same way.   Can your budget accommodate the switch?  That is another factor to consider.

Take a look at disneyfoodblog.com where you'll find a nice breakdown of the Free Dining promotion to further help with your decision.

Please write back to me if I can assist with any other questions.

Until then, I wish you a magical first vacation!
