We are taking our first Disney cruise on July. I received an email asking me to select my port arrival time. My youngest son has autism and he can become impatient during long waits. Should I choose an early or late port arrival time?

    Hi Angel -

Thanks so much for visiting the Moms Panel with your question. July is almost here and your magical voyage awaits!

Checking in later than the rest of the crowd allows you to breeze through the check-in process at the port. My family and I have arrived at the port at various times, and we've found that checking-in after lunch is usually when the lines are much shorter. There was even a time, when it felt like we were the only ones left at the port -- and everyone was just waiting for us to board :-). We literally walked from the check-in counter to enter the gangway in less than 10 minutes! Just make sure that you've got all your Online Check-In paperwork in place prior to arriving at the port. This way, you're not having to fill in any documents at the counter, and it hastens the whole process even more. You'll be the best judge of course, and it's really a matter of preference too. The good thing about the Check-in process for Disney Cruise, is that they do stagger guest arrivals at the port. So, most of the time the crowds are pretty predictable.

I hope that this helps. Say 'Hi" to Captain Mickey for me!

    Bon voyage,
    ~ Dolly
