    Jeannina from NJ Asked

Hi! We are taking our first Disney Cruise in August for 4 days. My children will be ages 19,17,15,11. My youngest has medical issues and we don't like to leave him alone. If he went into a kids club can an older sibling join him or is there an age limit?

    Ahoy, Jeannina!

You must be SO excited to experience some pixie dust on the high seas this August! Your crew has a lot to look forward to when you set sail for your Bahamian adventure on the Disney Dream! There is truly something for everyone on a Disney Cruise, and you'll be soaking in the magic before you know it.

I'm glad you sent in this question because I do have a suggestion for how to utilize the youth spaces on your vacation. There is an age limit of 12 for the Oceaneer Club and Oceaneer Lab, so your older sailors won't be able to join their brother in the areas during secured programming. But, each space does offer Open House hours each day, which allows Guests of all ages to be in the youth areas. This will be the perfect time for your son to explore Andy's Room, pilot the Millennium Falcon like Hans Solo or play a game with his favorite Disney Character in the Disney Infinity Game Room. Open House hours will be listed in the daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator and on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app.

On the first afternoon, the youth areas will be open for Guests to explore, so this will be the perfect time to check out the space as a family. You can also use this time to speak with the counselors about your son's medical issues to see if you might feel comfortable letting him "check in" for some of the secured programming. They are the experts at the activities they offer so they may be able to suggest some times he could join in the fun. The counselors communicate through Wave Phones so you will only be a phone call or text message away. There are two issued per stateroom, and they work both on the ship and on Castaway Cay.

Thank you for stopping by to "sea" us!
