We are taking our first big family vacation to DL in March. I have 4 kids and 2 have autism. Does DL accomodate children with autism? It will also be their birthdays at the time of our visit, is there anything special I can do for them?

    Hi there Casie,

I am very proud to report that Disneyland is extremely understanding and accommodating when it comes to to special needs of all shapes and sizes.  It may be helpful to visit the Disneyland Guest Services website prior to your arrival, as it contains lots of great information which could come in handy during your visit!  There are lots of ways Disneyland guest services may intervene to ensure that every member of your family has a magical experience and you can visit City Hall in Disneyland, or Guest Relations in California Adventure to speak with a Cast Member who has been especially trained to deal with special circumstances of all types!  Be sure to provide as much information about your children's conditions, as this will help the Cast Member tailor a plan that is perfectly tailored to suit your specific needs!

As far as birthdays are concerned, in my humble opinion, Disneyland is the perfect place to celebrate and there are so many ways to do so!  I would start by picking up a complimentary Birthday button at from City Hall in Disneyland!  This special keepsake will be sure to draw lots of attention to the guest of honor!  You could also plan for a special Birthday meal at one of the many Character Dining locations!  My first choice would be to celebrate with a My Disneyland Birthday Party at the Plaza Inn!  For the ultimate surprise, be sure to contact the Disneyland Dream Makers to arrange for and over-the-top in-room celebration!

Please write back if I can be of further assistance! -Amanda F.
