We are taking a family member with a terminal illness to MK for her first visit- hospice was able to pay for her ticket. What can we do to make the trip special that is included with admission/inexpensive?

    Hi Melissa,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Although your family member is under Hospice care, it is clear that you all are planning a wonderful visit to celebrate her life!

One of our favorite special things to do is to book a pre-park dining reservation at Be Our Guest in Magic Kingdom. As long as the park does not have early morning Extra Magic Hours, you should be able to enter before most other guests. Walking through a virtually empty park is simply magical. We always stop to take a few pictures on our way to the restaurant. If we make our reservation for 8:00 a.m., we can finish before 9:00 a.m. and then go get in a stand-by line for a ride. On our last visit, we were able to just get on Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with no wait!

Memories matter, so make sure you know where the PhotoPass camera is on certain rides and then plan a gesture to do together (safely, of course). We have all put our hands on our faces and looked terrified or all looked in the same direction. We always laugh if one person somehow misses the move - those pictures are hilarious.

The Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade and the Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party are a lovely way to experience some free fun. The characters, music and dancing spread the happiness. Hands down, the most magical experience for us at Magic Kingdom is the Happily Ever After fireworks show. On our last visit, we secured our viewing spot immediately after the last Move It! Shake It! Dance & Play It! Street Party. Although I saved the spot for a while, it was worth the wait. We were directly in front of the castle towards the left side. It was spectacular!

Melissa, stay together, takes lots of pictures and create beautiful memories - that is what matters!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
    Donyell
