Hi I am taking my family of 7 in August we can't really afford to stay on property but I am hoping my kids can still enjoy the character dinning. And I am hoping I can still make all our reservations for things, anyone know?

Hello Kerri!  I'm so happy you've stopped by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.

Just to ease your mind, I have stayed off property at Walt Disney World several times and we always have a great vacation.  You are all going to have so much fun.  No matter where you stay, you and your family are absolutely welcome to dine with the characters at any of the character meals inside the resorts or parks.  Just know, if you choose a restaurant inside of a Walt Disney World theme park, you need a ticket to the park for that day.  You can make dining reservations 180 days in advance by calling 407-WDW-DINE starting at 7am.  The good restaurants fill up quickly, so you'll want to be on the phone as soon as possible to make your reservations.

Being an off property guest, you are still able to make FastPass+ selections ahead of time, starting at midnight, 30 days prior to your trip via your MyDisneyExperience account.  If you do decide to stay at a Walt Disney World resort, on property guests can make their selections 60 days prior.

If you need any help planning your upcoming vacation, I'd be more than happy to assist you.  Just come back and ask me a question anytime!
