We are taking a Disney cruise followed by 2 days at the Disney park. My husband is concerned we won't arrive at the park with enough time to make our park ticket worthwhile sine our girls are 2 & 5. I think seeing MK over 2 days is better. Thoughts?

Welcome aboard, Carol! You are taking my favorite type of Disney vacation: a land and sea trip! Each time my family disembarks a Disney cruise ship after a fabulous week, it is bittersweet, as we've had such fun onboard and it's then time to head home. However, extending the Disney magic for a few more days by visiting the Walt Disney World Resort after your cruise can make disembarking so much easier!

Once the ship returns to Port Canaveral, it must be cleared by customs and then guests are usually able to begin disembarking by around 7:30 a.m. If you are ready to head off the ship around then, you can take Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation to your resort (travel time is about an hour). Check in, drop off your bags and head out to Magic Kingdom! You can easily be there by late morning, giving you almost a whole day in the parks. I completely agree with you that taking two days in Magic Kingdom, especially with little ones like yours, is the best way to go. You won't feel so pressured to "do it all" in one day which can wear you out and certainly won't be as relaxing. The nice thing is that you could enjoy Magic Kingdom for a few hours, have a nice lunch, take in a few attractions and then head back to your resort for naps. Let the girls rest up, then go back to Magic Kingdom for dinner and some nighttime fun. You can certainly get your money's worth out of that park ticket on the day you disembark the ship, Carol.

If you haven't already, consider purchasing transfers with Disney Cruise Line's ground transportation. Though there is an extra cost of $35 per person each way, I promise it is worth every penny, as Disney takes care of the details, and you'll arrive at your resort quickly after disembarking - ready for a day at the Magic Kingdom!

Stop back if you have other questions, Carol! I'm happy to help!
