We are taking a day to not go to parks to check out other things, ex. DTD and minigolf, disney quest. Would it be better to take our car or does the bus go from mini golf to DTD with short delays? Does the tram only take you from parking lot to parks?

Hi Michelle!  It is nice to allow yourself a day outside of the parks to enjoy all the other wonderful things to see and do while at Walt Disney World. So many guests don't do this and they are missing a real treat.

If you are planning multiple things for one day such as mini golf and Downtown Disney and you have a car then I suggest this is the day you use it. It will ultimately save you time and gives you the freedom to bounce around from golf to Downtown Disney at your leisure. There are many locations to park at Downtown Disney and depending on what you are wanting to do will determine where to park. You can move your car as you move your plans and interests there. Via car the distance is short between Mini Golf and Downtown Disney and would only take you about 10 minutes at most.

The Disney trams are used in the park parking lots to take guests from the sites to the entrance. They come and go frequently but this is the only reason they are used. They do not go off site from their specific park. The Disney buses will take you from resorts to parks and Downtown Disney. To go from one resort to another you would need to head to a park or Downtown Disney and then transfer so it can get a bit complicated and definitely takes extra time out of your day.
