We are taking a 3 day cruise from Port Canaveral in March. The Monday we return, we are considering going straight to Epcot park. About how long would it take to get there after checking out of the cruise/customs etc...wanting to make a lunch reservation

    Ahoy, Lisa!

It's never easy to leave a Disney ship behind after a magical voyage so having an opportunity to visit the Walt Disney World Resort is the best way to deal with your post-cruise blues! And Epcot is a perfect choice since it will be in full bloom with the International Flower & Garden Festival. Not only will you be surrounded by the most beautiful flower displays and intricate Character topiaries, but also your palate will love all the delectable food and drink offerings. The entertainment is fabulous too! So disembarking will be a bit easier for your crew!

On departure morning, you will find the process to be quite organized and efficient at Port Canaveral. I'm not sure of your ground transportation plans to Epcot, but if you plan to drive, you can estimate about 60 to 90 minutes depending on traffic. There are a few tolls that will slow you down as well so be sure to have some small bills and change ready! If you want to get to Epcot as early as possible, you may consider Express Walk-Off since it allows you to leave as soon as the ship is cleared. This is normally around 7:00 to 7:30 a.m., but you will have to disembark with your own luggage instead of placing it outside your stateroom door on the last night to be picked up in the terminal once you've debarked. Specific instructions on Express Walk-Off will delivered to your stateroom if you are interested. Otherwise, you can leave after breakfast, which will be immediately following the Express Walk-Off Guests so normally 7:45 to 8:00 a.m. Leaving the ship and clearing customs usually takes my family around 30 minutes, but can take longer (or less time) depending on how many Guests are disembarking at the same time.

My recommendation is to plan a dining reservation for noon or later, Lisa. Breakfast is served in the main dining rooms so you can definitely fill up before hitting the road to Epcot.
