We are taking a 7 day cruise on the magic and will be on the cruise New Year's Eve. Will there still be 1 formal,1 semi formal and a pirate night?

You've got awesome New Year party plans, Carol!

There's nothing like living IN the party -- no worries of going anywhere else and making any additional plans for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day celebrations. To add to that, you've got world class accommodations, fabulous entertainment and dining experiences right there with you. Wow! What a memorable voyage this will be for you and your shipmates, as you kick off the new year with such a magical experience!

The 7-night cruises will surely have Formal, Semi-Formal and Pirate Nights. I double checked with a Disney Cruise cast member, but they have not actually published which night will be which. I'm guessing, New Year's eve might be a good choice for Formal night? You can count on these nights for sure, so you should go ahead and continue planning your outfits. There will be lots of photo opportunities on board as Disney Cruise will have signature backgrounds setup at the atrium in the evenings. Their professional photographers take great pictures. They'll even have your favorite Disney Characters in their special holiday attire to make your photos even more magical. These will make great souvenirs and possibly holiday photo cards for your friends and family.  As you already know, Disney Cruise makes it extra special and you'll have great magical moments to look forward to.

Wishing you a spectacular New Year's voyage out on the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew!
