We are taking my daughter to WDW for her 16th biday (as a surprise). We will get there 2 days before her b-day. Any ideas on ways we can make it EXTRA special? We are staying at the Beach Resort.

    Hi Denise!  I love surprises!

Have you thought about bringing a best friend along as a surprise?  I know my daughter would love this at any age - especially because she has two brothers.  If that is a possibility, you probably would want to arrange this with best friends mom and not tell the best friend.  You know how best friends are with sharing secrets!  :)

Anyway, once you are at Disney, you may want to arrange for a special welcome compliments of Disney Florist.  Pay special attention to the 'birthday', 'Sweet 16', and In-Room Celebrations links on the left.  Depending on your budget you can arrange to have a small arrangement or a full blown in room celebration delivered to your room!

Of course a special dining experience would be a lot of fun - and there are a ton of  restaurants to choose from.  You may also want to plan a special event on her birthday.  Is your daughter into a little bit of adventure? Since she'll be 16 (she will need to be accompanied by an adult), she will be at the minimum age requirement to try a Segway Tour.  Tons of fun!  You may also want to consider trying to secure a fireworks cruise for Wishes or Illuminations.

And you may have heard that the #1 thing Disney is doing for birthday celebrations is allowing everyone in a park for free on their actual birthday.  If you already have tickets, you have other options, such as choosing the fast pass option or a gift card.  You can read all about this and other great ideas on how to celebrate on the celebrations page on disneyworld.com!

Have fun and I hope your surprise goes off without a hitch!  Diane  :)
